Sweet Dreams?
2017
Director/Animator
Sweet Dreams? was my first stop motion animation ever, and the first film that ever played in a film festival under my name. This film follows the stories of three different individuals and the strange dreams that they have encountered in their past.
WHY THE 3? ABOUT ME
Barb isn't quite a common name amognst the youths born circa 1999, in case you haven't noticed that yet. However, I was fortunate enough to be named after both my grandma’s, Barbara Lee (left) and Barbara Hoffman (right).
Both of them have been a great inspiration to me throughout my life. Barbara Lee is a sailor who has gone on great adventures such as open ocean trips to the Galápagos Islands and Alaska. Barbara Hoffman on the other hand was a nurse who had many adventures herself, including meeting her future husband over a corpse in the morgue.
Both Barbara’s always did what they loved, and always sailed to the beat of their own drum, both being and discovering their true selves. They both taught me how to be myself
This is why I put the '3' in my title, Barb 3 Films. Consider it a nod to all the ways they inspire me!
To all the Barb's out there, rock on:)
Unfortunately, I am no longer a blissful bouncing baby, and this is now what I look like. >>>
A little more about me:
I grew up in the PNW, greater Seattle area. My family is awesome, and I love them a lot. I'm infatuated with cats like the rest of the internet, and my career goals are honestly just to keep having fun with creating whatever goofy weird things come to this brain of mine.
I started my journey in film by making silly movies as a kid with my friends (I mean who didn't though right?). My most memorable projects were the strange music videos we would make to Weird Al tracks. From there on the addiction snowballed, and soon enough I was attending local film festivals and applying to film making college programs.
Going forward I got to be a part of amazing film festivals such as NFFTY and SIFF (if you don't know of them I highly recommended you look them up!)
After graduating with a Film Studies degree from Seattle University, now I work full time at an awesome production company called SHEP Films, whom made the indie sci-fi production called Prospect (2018). You should also really check this movie out if you have not seen it!
And now you know the rest of the story! If you want to get in contact with me about anything whatsoever, feel free to use the info below. That's all folx!
